Refusal to choose is a choice

In our choices, there are actions, and in actions, there lies satisfaction. So, if your choices are not good, you are likely to be less satisfied with life. Now, choices should be meaningful. How we can give meaning to choices is what existentialism teaches us. Existentialism is a movement in philosophy that questions the meaningfulness of life. Every day, there should be an echo in our mind regarding whether we are really existing?

Each moment of our lives should be the choice of our existence. In case we forget to live, the theory of existence should guide us on how we should move back to the track on how to live. While existentialism doesn’t teach us any methods to live, it gives us hope and a reason for living a life of meaning. Freedom comes when an individual decides to live on his own terms. The restrictions from society or any other individual are not a sign of free living.

These days, a lot of people think it’s okay to just accept their fate, avoid calling out toxic workplaces for fear of losing their jobs, not push for fair raises, and go along with bad conditions. But honestly, this kind of thinking isn’t really acceptable; it shows some questionable choices. A lot of folks have completely lost sight of what makes a good choice versus a bad one. If you’re in the right state of mind, it’s pretty easy to spot the difference. So, it’s super important for everyone to aim for better and not settle for less.

Here is a video that explains existentialism clearly. It will help us understand existentialism better and guide us in making good life choices.

In this video, we see how Existentialism shapes our view of existence, focusing on personal freedom and responsibility. This movement, based on the ideas of philosophers like Søren Kierkegaard, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Simone de Beauvoir, urges people to live authentically by facing the absurdity of life.

Further concepts such as “Existence precedes essence” challenge traditional notions of identity and purpose, urging us to define ourselves through our actions. As we explore these ideas, we come to appreciate not only the complexity of existence but also the empowering potential of making conscious choices in crafting our own unique paths.

So, why not choose your own path? Why be afraid to dream or express your feelings? Think Existentially on these questions, and you’ll find the answers.
